All good things must come to an end and so Summer of Giles is closed for another year. I want to thank everyone who’s taken part for making this July so special. Without you guys, I’d have nothing. Also a shout out and much love to my co-mod littleotter73 - you da best.

Another full and fab week!

In summary:
Giles and Buffy’s find distance helps them express their feelings
Jenny tries to lift Giles' mood after the crossbow incident.
Giles’ father becomes involved in an ongoing (and hopefully will be completed!) fic.
Giles and Buffy continue to get closer after her resurrection.
Ethan proves to be an unexpected source of support to Giles.
We learn that Giles doesn’t entirely hate every moment of hanging with Dawn.
And finally he takes emotional stock when he makes his decision to leave Buffy.

It's been a bumper final week. My apologies for the slight tardiness in this round-up, but I'm selfish and I like to read everything first!

In fic:
Randall survives with unexpected consequences. Giles looks to the Council for help in wish!verse. Giles phones a friend. Said old friend offers useful relief! Jenny has plans for Giles for breakfast. An opportunity causes Giles to take stock. A look at Giles handling AU Slayers. Buffy makes her choices clear ( and it ain't Riley). A precious haiku. In quarantine, Giles and Buffy get a lot closer. Jesse lives! We are teased with further insight into Watcher and Slayer. The dragons finally bite the dust, will Buffy make it? After Jenny’s death, the scoobies rally around Giles. Cordy shocks the stuffing out of Giles’ stuffy family. And finally, Buffy learns just how honest her new Watcher is.

It’s been a fab first week in Summer of Giles with a lot of good work straight out of the starting blocks. Buffy has had cause to doubt Giles’ honesty. Anyanka has been surprised to catch up with old flame Giles and further sparks ensue. Giles has learnt that sometimes it takes a good friend to help see the bigger picture. Captain Jack sought solace from the only person he knows would take care of him. Giles and Cordelia have welcomed additions to their household. Speaking of, Cordelia learnt more about Sunnydale from Giles in a continuing fic. Ethan (bless him), decided the night had possibilities with his old friend. Giles and Jenny celebrated in a traditional way. Giles and Buffy (almost) cooled down with ice-cream ;)

Week Whatever-it-was-plus-a-bit

This *cough* week *cough* has been about the connections. Giles has tantalisingly met Ethan several first times. He’s dealt with the difficult connection with his mother. He’s reassessed his connection to Cordelia. After the battle has been won, he’s looked to improve his connection to Buffy and the scoobies. Buffy and he have made an early connection in their Watcher/Slayer relationship. Finally, he and Cordelia are introduced again.
