For a moment all was sunshine, but he was in London so it didn’t last. He and Ethan often spoke of traveling to sunny climes. Running away. But somehow it never happened.

Though if they went, Ethan said he’d be, well, reliable. Not wander off and leave Giles stranded in some dusty village or Amazonian jungle. No doubt he’d not mean to.

It’s just that he’d have a sudden thought or heard of some exotic magic just out of reach and Giles would wake alone, probably with all his money gone.

Love could be so complicated, Giles found.
