A/N: It’s funny, I’m in the middle of moving, so I didn’t think I’d have the time/energy to be able to participate in summer_of_giles this year. Giles had other plans as I’ve finished up writing two one shots. He whispered to me and who was I to say him nay! Thanks as always to the mods of SoG for all their hard work behind the scenes every year and for giving us such a lovely space to show our love of Giles.

You wanted to employ Ripper, perhaps on some sort of retainer. This encounter was all Mr Giles. You really don’t want to know how Ripper would respond. If you have issues with Angel, work them out for yourself. And if I decide I need a little payback from him, I really don’t need your assistance to do so. Heh, yes I imagine Lindsey really would underestimate him. And approaching him during a time period when Giles was feeling uncertain probably made him particularly defensive.

It was great fun having Lindsey go in thinking he had the upper hand because Giles was so isolated and then having the tables turned on him. And yes, a vulnerable Giles is a dangerous and snippy Giles, which is always a joy to write.
