Summer of Giles

It's time to play our traditional game of First Line, Last Line Drabble Challenge! This is open to everyone on June 11,12,13 - ONLY. No posting after this date please as we return to regular calendar.

The rules are simple: post a drabble length fic (100 words exactly), using the last line of a previous drabble as the first line of your work. Open to everyone to join in. Last lines can be reused. Giles vaguely involved somehow - he doesn't have to be big damn hero though.

Abusing my mod power, and apologising for the title in advance, I get to start things off...

“Ask not of my dreams or join them,” translated Giles. “If my Demotic Egyptian isn't too rusty that is.”

Spike looked at the sarcophagus dubiously.

“How rusty is rusty? Because that sounds pretty damn cursey to me.”

“Don't be ridiculous. We are in the British Museum and this tomb has been been on countless world tours since the 1920’s. So there’s probably not a curse.”

“Oh the ‘probably’ really sells it, Watcher. Why has nobody managed to open this thing before?”

Giles shrugged, handed his companion the crowbar and retreated to a safe distance.

“Try not to damage anything.”
