Summary: Season six is so full the Scoobies making questionable decisions for what seem like good reasons at the time. Giles isn't immune to that trait and it got me thinking. This was the result.

 Hello Everyone!

Today is Haiku Day here at Summer of Giles! I'll go ahead and kick it off with 7 haikus - one for each season. Please feel free to post yours in a new entry and not a reply so everyone can see them.


Title: Giles Haikus Through the Seasons

Season 1

It is getting late. 

He brews his fifth cup of tea

while waiting for her.

 

Season 2

Blind rage and extreme

heat is all he feels until

she grounds him again.

 

Season 3

Betrayal. The guilt

eats at him. Kneeling before

her, he tends her wounds.

 

Season 4

Shared panic and pain.

Their eyes meet. Recognition.

Now Ethan will pay!

 

Season 5

He shoves the blond vamp

against the wall, his anger

unleashed. Meet Ripper!

 

Season 6

With her gone, he’s lost.

But now she stands before him

Alive. And he’s found.

 

Season 7

Gazing out over

the crater, he can’t help but

wonder, “Christ! Cleveland???”

Happy Haiku Day here at Summer of Giles!

 

We're open to anyone who wants to play, please just make sure that you respond in the comments below, follow the haiku structure, and it involves Giles.

 

The structure of a haiku is all about syllable counts and simplicity rather than a word count. There should be three lines (but they don't have to be three separate sentences, you can roll over). The first line should have 5 syllables, the second line 7, and the last line 5 syllables.

 

Let's kick it off with when it all began...

 

 

Destiny awaits.

He knows she's near. Finally

In walks his Slayer.

It's Haiku time! For one day only.

This is open to everyone who wants to play by responding in comments below (not a new post please).  Anything is welcome so long as it conforms to haiku structure and is Giles-ish (however slightly).

The structure of a haiku is all about syllable counts and simplicity rather than a word count. There should be three lines (but they don't have to be three separate sentences, you can roll over), the first line should have 5, the second line 7, and the last line 5 syllables.
