Title: Practical Concerns
Author: il_mio_capitano
Rating: FRT
Prompt: Ripped Shirt
Characters: Giles, his parents.
Length 113
Instead of an ambulance, his father had called the Council’s medical team and though Giles grimly wondered who benefitted the most from that discretion, he submitted to their care. They were rough in cutting through his jeans and shirt but at least they’d shot him up with some kind of opioid he doubted he’d get on the NHS, so swings and roundabouts.
His mother had darted about, gathering the remnants of his bloodied and ripped clothing. Giles was woozy but he thought he heard her running the sink and banging kitchen cupboards.
“Henry, where’s the salt?”
Giles’ eyes found his father’s and the older man shrugged.
“We all have our own way of coping, son.”
Next Prompt: Rowing a boat
