Grahics Special Offer: Movie Posters
Hello fellow Giles lovers!
I have an offer to make to all of you Giles writers out there. I'd like to make "movie posters" for your fics. If you haven't written the fic yet, that's fine. If you wrote the fic ages ago, that's fine too. If it's still a WIP, that's ok as well. As long as Giles is one of the main characters, you're golden.
So if you'd like to have a fic poster that might turn out like this, or this, or this or some combo from those pages and out of my imagination,
comment to this post with the following info:
a) title
b) your name [ lj name, writing handle, etc - whatever you want as 'author']
c) tag-line OR favorite sentence/quote from the fic [ i may edit at my discretion ]
d) characters/pairing [ if you have a fic about an ensemble, give me a rough idea how much each character is in it so I can arrange them properly ]
e) link to your fic [ if it's not written yet, that's fine! just let me know ]
f) a general idea about what type of fic [ angsty, dramatic but hopeful, action adventure ] and a general summary of what happens

- I'll be making the poster 500 w x 600 h, and can make you smaller sizes from the larger image if you're still posting chapters and want an intro graphic (just ask - I'm happy to reduce size because it's quick and easy for me)

Not sure I understand what tag line is for? Me? Story/pic? I am tagline-free. Something for the story/pic would depend on the story/pic. Did that make any sense?

PS: I was just re-reading your poster invite and saw it can just be about Giles (sorry, had my B/G hat on). You could also just have Giles backed against the monument bravely facing down the three armed vamps that first night Buffy leaves him chained up in the 2012 SOG P-AM AU story, perhaps with Wishverse Buffy watching from the treeline with crossbow as she did in the story.
But as I said, whatever floats your boat. Thanks again!

Not sure if I was confusing or not, but if you check out the images in this post:

those are examples of what i meant by "movie poster for your fic" -- so it's gonna be an image with the title of your fic on it, with your name, and the characters in the fic (or the main pairing), with an image i can work up that i think evokes the fic, and usually, like in movie posters, a little one-line "tag line" that teases the story. So it's not a summary, but a kind of teaser...
And I'm sorry, when I responded to your comment it was pretty late my time, and I didn't realize you'd give me at least three different stories you'd like illustrated... totally my fault! I'm waiting till i get all the requests in before i start on these, so how about I contact you back when i have a clearer idea of which one i'm gonna do, and we can talk then?

I've been busy and got through a first draft of this. Can I change the tagline to
"Someone shouldn't be there..." please? the ...is optional. In fact so is the tagline really. i'll be grateful for anything. Your posters are awesome.

Title: Of Spiders and Fish
Name: My LJ handle would do.
Tagline: Some pets reflect their owners better than you might realize. (Or something which says the same thing but sounds a hell of a lot better doing so)
The actual story is Giles talking to Willow, Buffy and Xander about the pets that he and Ethan used to have ; a Tarantula for Ethan and several goldfish for Giles, and then later thinking on how suitable they were for them.
It's kind of darkish, with a little bit of humor.
Is that enough for you? Lol. Your mission, should you chose to accept it...
And, just a random thought- if the dates don't get taken maybe you could do something like declare the 3rd and 4th theme drabble days, or something. Not quite the Free-For-All, but. ... just something a little different. anyway, feel free to tell me I'm bonkers. Nuts. Coconuts. Whatever.

a) Title - AH! this is either the very first or the very last thing I figure out! It'll involve blood somehow, probably. I like themes.
b) Name - SallyAnn is my pen name on FF and my own site, I use harmony033 too....either way is fun and fine, both is fine, whatever looks best
c) Line - Because it does always have to be blood. (some reference to the blood bond...if this is too close to the line from canon, feel free to not use it)
d) Characters - Giles pre-series, Giles post s5, Dawn is involved, the whole Scoobie gang post s5 will be involved somewhere, oh and yeah, there will be B/G in there too ;)
e) Link - HA! so not finished yet.
f) Summary - It is an angsty fic with a happy ending, much Giles depression post-Buffy's death, and there's a whole lot about the blood bond. Giles is stuck in a Buffy-less void, but he can't seem to leave Sunnydale, out of a personal need and an inadvertent need to help Dawn (blood bond by-product). There may be some Travers involvement and by the time it syncs up with s6, there will be Buffy/Giles ship...eventually.
I've only gotten through the very early part of Giles' summer and some background on the blood bond so far. I will be happy to share more with you as I figure it out. This is clearly my entry for the second posting date.

Trouble is, I haven't written the fic yet and don't know what it's called.
