A/N: At the end of 2020 I made a resolution for 2021 to get more involved with animal rescue. I’ve had 5 foster puppies in that time. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been rewarding. Anyway, this story was inspired by my passion for animal rescue.

I’ll comment on AO3 once I’ve had the chance to read it but I just wanted to say thank you for being a foster pet parent! I’ve volunteered in my local shelter for 6 years but only had one foster dog in that time and when she got adopted I sobbed, it takes such a special person to be able to do that regularly!

Thank you! I did have one pup that I wish I could've kept. My own pup is picky about dogs she gets along with, she's had some traumatic experiences with other dogs, and this foster I had she actually got along with so it was really hard to take him back. I live in the South East US, and spay/neuter programs in this area are lacking so there are always a ton of dogs, especially puppies that need fostering, and if my baby was better with other dogs I would do it way more often.
