Ah, pentatonix. I hadn't actually heard that cover but it's so ffffing beautiful. The whole video was beautiful and painful in that really good way, especially the painful passion and becoming scenes, you know which ones you are.

Thank you. I've been wanting to do Hallelujah for a long time now, but I could never find a cover that would completely work for Giles. Then Pentatonix came out with this and gave me the perfect Christmas gift.

Hey, if it's Vamp!Giles and dark (which looking at it's AO3 tags, I'd say 'dark' fits the bill), I'm 110% certain I'm going to love it! I love fics that explore the darker aspects of fandom - I just wish there were more!

Comments are love, and I'm making it my mission this year to spread as much love as possible. *grins* I may not fully get round to it until the weekend (I've got a deadline for another fest looming and I've already had to ask for one extension, because I'm terrible like that), but rest assured, comments are coming!

Nice work! I admit that I was initially disappointed that it wasn't the Jeff Buckley version of Hallelujah because, in my heart, that will always be the definitive version. But while that version is pretty much pure, distilled heartbreak, this one has a somewhat bouncy quality at times. And while a darker, sadder version of the video could have been made to fit that particular cover of the song, this cover is clearly the one that fits with your vision. And I enjoyed your vision for the video, blending the lighthearted and the heartbreaking. I agree with other commenters that the hug montage at the end was especially nice. Also, that the scene where Drusilla is imitating Jenny to a tied-up Giles fit really well with the lyrics of the second verse.

Thank you. I've been wanting to do a Giles vid to Hallelujah for a long time and went through every cover I could find to get the right tone and combination of verses. I really wanted to do the original Leonard Cohen version, but I couldn't see to pictures in my mind. Like Jeff, a little too much angst for Giles, too much about heartbreaking romantic love instead of exploring all the different types Giles displayed in the show. When Pentatonix released this last Christmas it was finally perfect. I could see the story each verse was telling. Plus, I find their voices always fit well with Giles vids.

So, yeah. Thank you. I'm glad my vision turned out to be one you enjoyed!

I really liked this video. I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of the song in general but I think it fit with what the clips you picked.
