Vid: "Dreaming I'm Alive" (Giles/Buffy) NSFW

Hey guys! This will be the first of my three posts today, and the first one of my two Buffy/Vamp!Giles videos. I'll put the two Vamp!Giles videos under separate posts simply to make it clear that even though both of them have Giles as a vampire, the vids have different storylines and the one doesn't affect the other at all. As you can probably tell by the state that Giles is in, this is an AU video and has nothing to do with canon. Same goes for the other two videos.

The reason for my current vampire-Giles obsession can be traced back to

khaoschilde's site Just A Bit Wicked where I drooled over her extraordinary manips. The generous person that she is, she let me use them as I saw fit, so the Giles picture manip in this video is indeed snagged from her site. (The Buffy/Giles pic manip is my own.)

Due to the copyright issues with YouTube (where they may or may not appear), I'll put all the videos on Vimeo. It's also possible to download these videos from there.

Without further ado, here's the first video. I hope you can forgive me the lack of fangs. And Celine Dion. ;)

Summary: Soon after Buffy and Giles got married, Giles was bitten by a vampire. Buffy knows what needs to be done when she waits at his grave site. What she doesn't know is that disoriented Giles has already risen and is now after her. The only glimmer of hope for them is the bond they once shared. It is yet to be broken, and for Buffy's sake, Giles tries to hang on to that shred of humanity left inside him.

THAT WAS AWESOME. Muse! Vamp!Giles!
(But for the first thirty seconds I'll admit I was very tempted to curl into a ball in my chair and hide. Then I thought "But wait, this is Polly1esther! She wouldn't do this without good reason." And it was true x3)

My favourite bits are near the end (sorta) with all the confusion and darkness. The neckzooming is utterly fitting. And I'm sure I've said it before, but you're awesome at clip manipulation, so it all works perfectly ^^ And the lyric match is obscenely well-done x3

Muse. I love Muse, even though while making this video I made a horrible discovery: Stephanie Mayer used Muse songs to inspire her literary masterpieces. :|
Stephanie Mayer! For Twilight, for chrissakes! *sigh* That almost turned me off from Muse but then I realized I can't blame the boys for who they happen to inspire.

It just means my brains work similarly to one Ms. Meyer's. 0_o

OH MY GOD YOU ARE BRILLIANT!! I have no words to express how awesome this is. the use of the wedding manip was *AWESOME* and the music and the beginning was a brilliant contrast. But my favorites are seroiusly the way you recast all of the crucimentium (sp?) so that it's Buffy having to fight AGAINST GILES! mwhahahaha. Oh, and the close up on her neck?? I love the colors, and the way you did the psychadelic-type imaging, and oh my gods the end??? STUNNING. JUST STUNNING.

Thank you so, so much!!! I'm ashamed to admit how fun it was to vid for the crucimentium scene and go all horror flick type of thing. The weird thing is that I really creeped myself out with the psychedelic stuff - it seems I've grown increasingly squeamish over blood. ~~I blame True Blood for this.~~

Oh, and the closing in on her neck was a last minute choice but now I'm glad I went for it. I think it worked.

It's quite intense what you've done here. I liked the blood running down the screen... the bite... I might be horrible if I say that... but that was sexy! haiuahua

I have to admit that the blood creeped me out and I was the one vidding it. How weird is that? But I'm glad it worked since I was aiming for the whole sex/death/horror/blood angle. Your comment here made me a very happy bunny.

Yeah... the coloring is off (waaaaaaaaay too bright) but the basic idea was that Giles had just bitten Buffy. Remember when I told you about how I had that Photoshop trial that I had way back when? The icon is the result from that period.

What I love about your videos is that you tell a story. It isn't a random cut and paste, edit, slow or advance time snippets of the show. You utilize scenes to create a completely new, and (mind the pun) revamped story with moments that were once familiar, but now tell a new tale.

And you do it brilliantly. I can't stress this enough.

You affect. Like, I'm breathless right now. I was holding my breath the whole time. I was feeling it. And God, it was good.

The skewed colour was a perfect touch, because it had smudges of realistic colouring in it, but not quite, which pushes you to the cusp of this so-called reality. It's this nightmarish feel, and that's where the coloured theme guided me to: to this distorted reality where it's real, but so messed up that you can only wish it to be a nightmare.

Gah. I can pretty much write a manifesto on this, lol!

I had to sit still for a minute after I read your comment. That's a very high compliment you gave there and believe me, greatly appreciated.

This was a strange - and hard - video to make because some of the most violent scenes really did a number on my head. (Note to self, stop making creepy videos.) I worried that maybe I went too far with the coloring but on the other hand, I felt it fit the mood of the video. I'm thrilled that it made an impact!

Wow Giles doesn't hold back does he. What is creepy is how believeable VampGiles is, he would have ruled Sunnydale instantly as a MasterVamp right away. Love the mix of emotions the highs and lows you have me right there with Buffy and Giles. Keep up the stellar work. :)

Vamp!Giles in the show would have been so awesome! ASH would have been wonderful as an amoral, ruthless bastard that I think Giles would have been had he ever been turned. In comparison, my vamp version of Giles still had little bit of humanity in him, I think. Very, very little.
