Giles sighed and reclined back into his seat, loosening his tie at the neck. He tossed the old fading book onto his desk and brought his clasped hands up to his chin. With two slayers around, the prophecies were even more vague, looking for anything to depict whether he needed to protect the dark slayer or the light slayer. He had hoped that the extra help would have been, well, helpful, but that was proving a disappointment.

Wesley stuck his head in the door. "Find anything?"

"Oh, just another apocalypse for us to scupper."

Of course Giles would find the prophecy. Wesley was probably off being officious with the Slayers and you know, generally pushing paper around like a good little bureaucrat.

Being clumsy and the like... As much as I loved his development, I did love season 3 BtVS Wes.

Gosh yes! Season 5 (AtS) Wesley is a completely different beast to season 3 (BtVS) Wesley. He went from being a character I felt pretty meh about to one of my all time faves!

Poor Giles having to do all the work. I love to hate on season 3 Wes, he was just so clueless. I absolutely loved his character development in AtS. Very well done! :)

Oh, Lordy! Wes, Cordy and Xander had the best character development in the Buffyverse IMO. Considering when they started out there was nothing especially special about them: Xander didn't have anything to really offer the group for a really long time; Cordy was mostly an alternate reality of what Buffy could have been i.e the popular girl; and Wesley's main use in BtVS was to stand in contrast with Giles. I am all for Character Development.
