Thank you! Fix-its are totally my jam. I think the biggest problem with the finale and all the episodes leading up to it is that it didn't feel like a finale, just a set-up for all the other stories that were floating around Joss's head. A good finale always are aware of their audience and give them some emotional satisfaction, a sort of "thank you for all your love and loyalty over the years." I think that's why we never got a scene with Giles & Buffy. Because Joss knew that someday he wanted to play with the idea of their estrangement. (I don't think ASH and SMG agreed with that, because there was no resentment or animosity in what little screen time they had together.) But man, Giles & Buffy needed to hug, dammit!! That may be why I went a little overboard in the hugging department with this fic. :-P

(P.S. I figure if your B/G shipper is happy, I can go ahead and use the B/G tag. ;-) I wasn't sure I should, since this was more of a pre-ship than anything else.)
