Disclaimer: No, I don't own BTVS, wish I did though. All rights belong to Joss and anyone who has their finger in the awesome pie that is Buffy.
Rating: R for safety but I have plans for NC-17 later.
Spoilers: All though season five. This takes place loosely during season six. Kind of AU.
Summary: After Buffy's death, Rupert Giles ran far from Sunnydale as he could. When he learns of his slayer's resurrection he comes back with a blind sense of hope and completely unsure of what he will find. Upon seeing the broken shell of the women he loves, Giles vows to help her find her way back to the person she used to be. Stages of Understanding is about love, life, death, forgiveness and moving forward.
A/N: Okay, as stated this is a season six fanfic. However, Warren died when his robot girlfriend entered the picture....I imagine he died during sex with her for my personal kicks and giggles....along with a few other people's enjoyment.....So that means no robot Buffy either. Jonathan died is season three in the episode "Earshot". As for Andrew...who knows. Playing D&D in his parents basement for all we know. Spike is not a major character in this. So, no Spuffy. I really hate Spuffy.
