Absolutely fabulous! Totally atmospheric. I loved how you dangled the red herrings, waiting for us to bite.

Wonderful scene setting, with Moody!Giles struggling to get home through the rain and crowds. Fate directing him to face his issues in the form of the sympathetic vampire in the mysterious "Watchers End" station. Giles sneaking out of the station into the sunlight (end of rain), determined to get in contact with his Sunnydale children (end of fear of talking to them).

Loved how the vamp challenged Giles' values in trading his own life for the two punks. Yep, he's a Watcher - it's what he does.

Watchers taste like chicken? Priceless!

Giles realizing, once again, that he can not escape his destiny? Priceless^2!

This story truly met the definition of "spinning a tale." I was grinning ear-to-ear while reading it, thinking, "Just where is cap going to go with this . . ." I had no need to rush ahead - rather just let it unfold. Very satisfying, thanks for sharing!

BTW: I'd say your plan to do a SOG with GBH (Giles Being Awesome) worked out well! :-)
BTW2: I certainly hope no actual books were harmed in the making of this story!! :-0
