I really like the complicated mix of feelings Ethan has for Giles here. It's a take on their relationship that I haven't seen or thought of before, but one that seems possible given what we know about Giles' flaws and weaknesses. I suspect the next time I watch their canon interactions, I'll be thinking of them a bit differently than before. Great fic.
