Drabble: Patience (Giles/Xander, all audiences)
Thanks to the mods for this wonderful community! I was inspired by the free-for-all day and wrote this Giles/Xander drabble (exactly 100 words!).
Patience
Giles glances at the clock. It’s now four hours and seventeen minutes.
It was four hours and thirty-one minutes when last he checked.
That’s improvement. Although slight.
He eyes the clock again. No change.
He fleetingly wonders whether time has stopped – perhaps as part of a nefarious spell – but then it counts down by another minute.
He really shouldn’t have agreed to Xander’s ridiculous request to not meet him at the airport.
He stands up, throws on a coat.
Xander’s at the door, grinning. “I got an earlier flight.”
Giles smiles back.
At least he’s not the only impatient one.
